Los resorts de Angsana en la bahía de LangCo son tan hermosos. It’s hidden in the Jungle at the base of a mountain and has won awards for being one of the best hotels. We had the whole resort practically to ourselves.

It’s our anniversary so we wanted to do something special. There’s some pretty amazing deals for resorts right now since the pandemic cut off the tourism industry’s source of high paying customers. Now is the time to go for a unique experience.

Reservamos la habitación del jardín por $111 por noche, pero obtuvimos una actualización gratuita a la habitación con vista al mar. Tenía una cama grande y cómoda con una foto de un pueblo de pescadores de fondo. Nuestro próximo destino.

The TV had the lady’s name on it welcoming us into our room. Thought that was a nice touch. Some instant coffee which is better than nothing i guess, but prefer the real stuff.

Pero el baño. Oh Dios mío. Era más grande que mi casa cuando vivía en Japón. Definitivamente fue la parte más bonita de la habitación. Tengo una ducha, una bañera y 2 lavabos. Vino con todo lo que pueda necesitar, desde toallas hasta un cepillo de dientes e incluso una bata de baño sexy.

Teníamos una terraza muy grande y desde aquí se puede ver la piscina y el océano.

Angsana resorts was a complete ghost town during this time. By far the best time to go for a swim as you know for a fact nobody has peed in the pool. Don’t worry. They keep this place nice and clean.

They drive you there on a little golf cart so you don’t have to walk. It was like we had our own private chef. Good news! We arrived just in time for happy hour. Ah, long island iced tea. So good. One of my favorite drinks.

Pedimos la olla caliente de mariscos y pizza para compartir. Después de eso, tomamos algunas fotos, exploramos un poco el área, pasamos el rato en la playa y vimos la puesta de sol.

Después del anochecer fuimos a un balneario.

They give you 1 free 15 minute massage then up sell you on a longer one. We decided to book a full massage to see what it was like. Cost was 500K or about $23 each. They give us some tea to pass time while they prepare the room. When everything is ready they come out and get you so you can get all dressed up in a robe. Then they clean your feet with some special flower water. The room was really nice and comfortable. Apparently the massage it’s a secret trademark technique so not allowed to film it but it was nice and relaxing.

La estancia incluye desayuno buffet continental.

With, ah yes! Real coffee, fruit, American breakfast items and Vietnamese food too. You can get eggs made to your liking. I ordered the omelet. It was quite good as I don’t eat western breakfast that often anymore, being in Vietnam for so long we mostly eat soup.

Centro deportivo

La recepcionista dijo que tenían tiro con arco. Nunca lo probé, así que tenía que comprobarlo. Cuando llegamos nos encontramos con toda una zona de actividades deportivas. Completo con un campo de fútbol y área de ejercicio al aire libre. El tiro con arco era gratis. Pensé que era bastante bueno.

Junto al océano tenían un centro de deportes acuáticos, puedes andar en seadoos, emprender una aventura con un vehículo todo terreno, ir a surfear, lo que sea, lo tenían todo.

María quería ir en kayak. Tienen una pequeña isla fresca con un puente de bambú y puedes elegir dar la vuelta a la isla o por el canal que fluye de un lado al otro del complejo. En tiempos normales se puede tomar un bote a través de él.

Después de eso, llegó el momento de dirigirse a un pueblo rural de pescadores. We booked a taxi to Cảnh Dương Beach then took a wooden boat to get to Coconut Island. Phan Ánh Tuyết & her husband run a little get away out there. Check out their facebook page Đảo Dừa. They’re really nice people and invited us to come see their island getaway.

El barco estaba un poco rocoso cuando abordamos, así que estaba un poco nervioso al principio.  I had my backpack with me, with all my camera gear, laptop and a few other things that don’t exactly like water.

Pero una vez que salimos a alta mar, fue un viaje realmente agradable. Puedes smell the sweet scent of the ocean and lots of fresh air that you don’t always get in the big cities. You have to come out here just for that. Los dioses nos favorecieron y llegamos a la isla sanos y salvos.

Tuvimos una parrillada de mariscos aquí con una variedad de diferentes criaturas marinas. Almejas y ostras frescas directamente del océano. Tuve unos calamares a la barbacoa con mango y unas cervezas. 

Her husband climbed up a tree just to get us a coconut. Skills I definitely don’t have. Wow was it ever refrescante. Me sentí como si estuviera viviendo de la tierra y el mar en Vietnam. Su plan es construir una pequeña casa de familia aquí. Me estaba mostrando sus planes en su teléfono.

We relaxed for a bit. The hammocks are actually quite comfortable. I walked around and enjoyed the nature.  All you can hear is the sounds of karaoke in the background. Yes even on a deserted island you can’t escape the karaoke in Vietnam. I think it was also near TET (Vietnamese New Year) so everyone is off work for a week or so singing away.

Arriba había un pequeño cementerio. Alguien de la guerra de Vietnam. Ofrecen fruta para honrar a los muertos aquí.

Cuando se puso el sol volvimos a tierra firme. En este punto yo estaba súper quemada por el sol. Se olvidó de aplicar protector solar. Necesitaba tomar un descanso del calor.  Alguien fue lo suficientemente amable como para dejarme pasar un rato en su casa. Fue interesante ver cómo vive la gente aquí.
