Thích Quảng Đức – Fire Munk Monument Saigon Vietnam

Thích Quảng Đức – Fire Monk Monument Saigon

Thích Quảng Đức / Fire Monk Monument in Saigon is a memorial for a Buddhist Monk who lit himself on fire at a busy road in Saigon on 11 June 1963. He did this to protest the war.

Literally, one of the most renowned photos ever taken happened at this exact location. Photographs of his self-immolation circulated around the world, drawing attention to Vietnam.

This was a famous event in Vietnam’s history. Someone recolored the original photo to give us a reminder of the horrors of war.
