Landmark 81 Skyview Saigon Vietnam

Are you scared of heights? This might not be for you. 😱
 
We took a little trip to the top of Landmark 81 which is Vietnam’s tallest building. At 81 stories, or 461.15 meters tall, it’s the tallest building I have ever climbed. It’s still the tallest completed building in Southeast Asia and the 17th tallest building in the world.
 
All other skyscrapers look so tiny from way up here. Usually cost about $50 each just to go up, but there was a special “we don’t have many customers right now discount” so half price. Yes!
 
We had to wear safety equipment to go up to the top balcony. Not sure what that did. I’m pretty sure that if I somehow jumped, or I mean “tripped and fell”, over that 7ft high glass wall that tiny little clip could not hold my weight. I like to eat lol.
 
If you’re rich, you can enjoy a very luxurious meal at the Miwaku Premium Japanese Restaurant on the top floor. It was a little out of my budget at $250 USD a meal. Drinks and tips not included. Settled for a mojito and an orange juice. That still set me back $45. It was definitely the best orange juice I ever had. I never knew this level of OJ quality even existed. It was something special. Came with a dried caramelized orange slice that tasted like sweet heaven.
 
No laptops allowed which I thought was a stupid rule considering the circumstances. I really wanted to work up there just for the bragging rights. Only one other person was up there minus the staff the whole time so it wasn’t like I was taken away business from them or anything by loitering. But rules are rules in Asia. People just follow them and don’t ask questions. I tried to ask why and they just said it was a rule. That is always the answer in Asia.🙄
 
You really get a feeling for how big the city is from up here. It goes past the horizon and disappears into the mist. It looks like it goes on forever. A really cool experience I would suggest it if you ever find yourself in Saigon.
