The beach is surrounded by natural beauty, including striking rock formations like the famous Hin Ta and Hin Yai at its southern end, which provide a unique backdrop to the scenic coastline.

The area around Lamai Beach is well-equipped with a range of accommodations, from luxury resorts to budget-friendly bungalows, catering to various preferences. Visitors can also enjoy a wide selection of dining options, including beachfront restaurants serving fresh seafood and traditional Thai cuisine. We had heard a lot about this beach but we were disppointed to be here. The site where we came, it was almost empty. There were neither sunbeds nor any water sports. The shacks serving drinks and food were little far. The only good thing about this beach was, it was very quite unlike Chaweng.

Definitely the best beach on Samui, clear water, really long shore, there are cafes along the beach and a lot of hotels, resorts. Entertaining spots like jet ski are also here. As a drawback I can mark only that it doesn’t have trees, palms along the beach so when it’s getting hotter and sunny it’s difficult to find shade, but you can buy a drink and lay down on a sun lounger by a cafe

After reading the reviews of this beach we were slightly put off going but I can honestly say it’s nowhere near as bad as people say, in my opinion. The sea wasn’t the clearest of water and there were some big waves but in terms of rubbish on the beach, we didn’t see anywhere near as much as people say in other reviews. I would definitely recommend coming to Lamai beach there’s some lovely bars and restaurants along the beach and we enjoyed swimming in the sea. A lot of people say there’s oil in the sea and on the sand, we also didn’t see any of this.

Beautiful beach - unfortunately oil spill made it rather unsafe to swim in ocean. For a week now, oil continues to wash up onto sand. You can't walk without it getting all over your feet and sandals. Very difficult to wash out. Even if water was clean, waves are super strong and red flags are out so it's not safe to swim. More oil washed up this afternoon

We visited during December, on some days we were unlucky and was windy, other days sunny and calm, overall a good beach, although the sight of some plastic and rubbish on the shore were disappointing, it has a plethora of restaurants, bars, coffee shops, massage stalls, beach vendors, on a good weather day can easily spend a few hours to swim, drink and eat!
