Pink Dolphins & Pig Island tour by Speedboat

Setting Off on the Adventure

The tour begins with a convenient pickup from your accommodation on Koh Samui. This hassle-free start ensures that you can relax and enjoy the day ahead without any logistical worries. Once onboard the speedboat, you’ll set off towards the Khanom coastline, known for its tranquil waters and stunning scenery.

Encountering the Pink Dolphins

After the dolphin-watching excursion, the tour takes you to Koh Tan, a small island renowned for its vibrant coral reefs and diverse marine life. Here, you can enjoy snorkeling in the crystal-clear waters, exploring the underwater world teeming with colorful fish and coral formations. Snorkeling gear is provided, so you can dive right in and make the most of this aquatic adventure.

The pink coloration of the Indo-Pacific humpback dolphins, often spotted near Koh Samui and the Khanom coastline, is primarily due to the visibility of blood vessels beneath their skin. Unlike other dolphin species, these dolphins have a thinner layer of blubber, which makes the blood vessels more prominent and gives them a pink hue. This unique coloration is particularly noticeable when they are active or excited, as increased blood flow enhances the pink appearance, adding to their distinctive and enchanting look.

Snorkeling at Koh Tan

After the dolphin-watching excursion, the tour takes you to Koh Tan, a small island renowned for its vibrant coral reefs and diverse marine life. Here, you can enjoy snorkeling in the crystal-clear waters, exploring the underwater world teeming with colorful fish and coral formations. Snorkeling gear is provided, so you can dive right in and make the most of this aquatic adventure.

A Taste of Thailand: Lunch on Koh Tan

Following your snorkeling session, you’ll be treated to a delicious Thai-style lunch. The meal is typically served on Koh Tan, allowing you to savor authentic Thai flavors amidst the island’s serene surroundings. This break is the perfect opportunity to relax, refuel, and soak in the natural beauty around you.

Visiting Pig Island (Koh Madsum)

The next stop on the tour is Koh Madsum, affectionately known as Pig Island due to its resident population of friendly pigs. These pigs have become a charming attraction, freely roaming the beach and interacting with visitors. You’ll have plenty of time to feed, pet, and take photos with these adorable animals. The island itself offers stunning beaches and clear waters, ideal for swimming and sunbathing.

Beyond the pigs, Koh Madsum provides a tranquil setting for relaxation. You can lounge on the sandy shores, take a refreshing swim in the sea, or simply enjoy the peaceful ambiance of this less-crowded island. It’s a perfect spot to unwind and appreciate the natural beauty of the region.

Had an amazing afternoon with Khanom Pink Dolphin Tours especially their new tour guide, which is a monkey called Dolphy. They took us to their new beach, and it was amazing for photos with all of us. Got the chill in a hammock and drink some beer and relax with an amazing view of the islands and the sea. Would highly recommend this tour, the weather was great for us. Tour guide also can play the guitar and seeing what was also treat for us.

Do not use this company. We paid 3100 Baht for a tour for two people, but when we got to the pier the weather was too bad to go out to sea. So we had no tour but they kept our money and refused to refund it. They offered another tour in 'future', but for the three days we spent in Khanom, even extending our stay here, they never offered a single tour. They kept stringing us along and never followed through. Do not trust them, do not give them your money; you'll never see it again, nor will you see any dolphins.Edit: the response below is untrue. We were only told the weather was too bad after we had paid and were on the boat. A legitimate business does not behave this way. It would be no problem if we were told the weather is bad and they hadn't taken our money in the first place. Instead, they took our money and then told us the sea was too rough afterwards.
